At Lower Keys Medical Center, our Hospitalist Services are dedicated to providing high-quality, continuous care to our patients throughout their hospitalization. Our team of skilled internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff are committed to ensuring that patients receive the best care possible, from admission through discharge.

Seamless Coordination for Superior Patient Care
One of the key strengths of our hospitalist program is the seamless coordination with specialists, primary care physicians, and hospital staff. Our hospitalists facilitate physician-to-physician consultations to ensure timely, effective care, ensuring that specialists are involved early in the treatment process when necessary. This collaboration enhances patient care and allows for comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Early Rounding for Timely Decisions
Our hospitalists conduct early and thorough rounding on all assigned inpatients, ensuring that critical decisions regarding treatment, care plans, and discharge are made promptly. We understand the importance of timely discharge planning and ensure that all patients are fully prepared to transition back to their homes or a follow-up care setting, in coordination with the referring or primary care physician.
Discharge Planning and Communication
We believe in clear, open communication. As part of our commitment to continuity of care, our hospitalists will provide a comprehensive discharge summary to your primary care physician, ensuring they are fully informed about your care and treatment during your stay. This ensures a smooth transition from the hospital to home, with all necessary follow-up care communicated.
24/7 Staffing for Consistent Care
To ensure our patients receive uninterrupted, high-quality care, our hospitalists are available 24/7. During the day shift (7am – 7pm), two providers will be available on-site, including either one Internal Medicine physician and one Nurse Practitioner, or two Internal Medicine physicians. At night, during the night shift (7pm – 7am), one Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will be on-site, with one physician on-call to handle urgent medical needs or emergencies.
